FAQ
What ages is Ripple for?
Ripple is written and designed for children aged 6–10. The stories are built so a 6-year-old is caught up in what happens, with depth for a 10-year-old to dig into, and illustration and layout built to match. But children the same age can differ hugely in interests, visual and cognitive development, and comfort with English. Ripple flexes across all of that, so this age range is a starting point, not a rule.
Does my child need to read independently?
Not at all. Ripple is meant to be shared, not just read alone. For some children that means someone else reading it with them — another child, a parent, grandparent, or other caregiver. For others, it means reading alone and bringing the ideas back into a conversation afterwards. Either way, Ripple's meant to be talked about, not just paged through.
Is Ripple made by AI?
Ripple is made by people. Writers write every article. Editors and proofreaders check every word. Artists and designers create every illustration, select every photo, and choose every page's layout. Fact-checkers verify every fact. Editors decide what goes in the magazine. We sometimes use AI for a couple of narrow, practical things: research, and light editorial work like checking spelling and tone-of-voice consistency against our own style guide — but AI doesn't write, draw, or decide what goes in the magazine. Every person working on Ripple cares about what ends up on the page, and that's not something you can automate.
