Ripples don’t stay small for long.
That’s the belief Ripple was built on: that one article, one question, one conversation can travel further than anyone expects. From there, we created Ripple magazine — a child’s space to read, wonder, and reach further. As parents ourselves, we know that there’s no shortage of content aimed at children. But we’ve struggled to find truly enjoyable content — something they actively choose to pick up — that expands their horizons and respects their capabilities. Content that doesn’t over-simplify the world, that trusts children to approach the world with openness and the curiosity to go deep.
Confidence comes from being empowered to figure things out yourself.
With Ripple, children are encouraged to experiment, ask questions, play, and slowly make sense of it all in their own way. They’re trusted. Each article or expert interview nudges them to look closer and think wider. When we ask, ‘What do you think?’, we mean it. Ripple was developed with an IB Primary Years Programme Educator and Coordinator to ensure that the content, writing model, and visual world are accessible, meaningful, and exciting for a 6-year-old reading with a parent and a 10-year-old reading alone, for a child whose first language is English and a child who is learning English as an additional language.
Our mission is to invite children into a wider world and trust them to shape it.
Every issue includes voices and perspectives from around the world, encouraging children to learn about cultures and the natural world that extends far beyond their bubble. We trust children to care about life beyond their own, to voice what’s fair, and to keep asking questions — because they already know that what they do, however small, counts.
